Wakelin Farm

Naturally beautiful,
unforgettably yours

Wakelin Farm is a spring and summer
wedding and events venue, nestled in the countryside with
breathtaking views over the Northamptonshire landscape.

About us

Nestled in the heart of the countryside, Wakelin Farm is a heritage arable farm that has been lovingly tended by the Wakelin family for generations. Its fields, rich with golden wheat, oats, oilseed rape, and beans, reflect a deep-rooted connection to the land and a legacy of agricultural tradition.

The idea to share this beautiful setting with others was born in 2022, when we celebrated our own wedding here. Inspired by the charm and natural beauty of the farm, we envisioned a venue where others could create their own unforgettable memories.

Today, Wakelin Farm offers a truly unique backdrop for weddings and special events. Surrounded by vibrant crops and panoramic views, our venue combines rustic elegance with the warmth of a family-run estate—providing the perfect setting for your most meaningful moments.

The Ceremony

While we don't host ceremonies on-site, this gives you the freedom to choose a location that truly reflects you as a couple. Whether it’s a beautiful local church, a meaningful spot close to home, or a civil ceremony at places like Northampton Guildhall or a nearby registry office, the choice is entirely
yours.
You can personalise the ceremony to reflect your story.

Catering tent available if needed
Large parking area

Food vans can park on-site

Wakelin Farm is set amongst our own working fields, where we grow beautiful seasonal crops that create a stunning backdrop. There’s a large on-site parking area, and a luxury toilet block is discreetly placed beside the marquee—hired in for each event at no extra cost to you. A catering tent can also be set up behind the marquee if needed, and there’s plenty of space for a food van to park up if that’s your style. Guests arrive via the Gayton Road entrance, following signs up the track to the parking area at the top of the site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get married at Wakelin Farm?

We’re a reception-only venue, but you can hold your ceremony wherever you choose. This booklet includes some lovely local suggestions.

What happens if it rains?

Rain adds to the charm! You’ll hear it on the tent roof and see it rolling in across the fields—much more atmospheric than being stuck indoors.

What if it’s cold?

We’re a seasonal venue (April–October), and the marquee stays cosy. The window panels can be adjusted to help control the temperature.

How many guests can we have?

Up to 120 seated guests during the day, with more welcome to join for the evening celebrations.

What time do we have to leave?

Music and last drinks wrap up at 11:30pm. All guests must be off-site by midnight.

Is there a policy on alcohol?

Yes—no corkage! You’re welcome to bring your own drinks for the tables and welcome drinks without any extra charges.

Do you get involved with the caterers etc.?

We’re a dry hire venue, so all catering, entertainment, and décor are up to you. Everything included in the hire is yours to use, no added cost.

Do you have any recommended suppliers?

As a new venue, we only recommend those we’ve personally worked with. For our launch, Anita Hale (pianist) and DJ Ian Marriott from Unlimited Sounds were fantastic.
